  • I have set up a Backblaze B2 account and tested the credentials with an s3 command line program. All good.

I also tested UpdraftPlus with an AWS bucket and that works well.

When I set up a connection to Backblaze B2 using the S3 generic option and run the S3 Settings test I get the following error: Vsp copay.

S3 settings test result: Failure: We successfully accessed the bucket, but the attempt to create a file in it failed. Please check your access credentials. (UpdraftPlus_S3::putObject(): [InvalidRequest] The V2 signature authorization mechanism you have provided is not supported. Please use AWS4-HMAC-SHA256)

    Can this be resolved?

    Cheers,
    Noel

The premium version provides even more useful features such as incremental backups, more backup destinations (WebDAV, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, SFTP/SCP, encrypted FTP, BackBlaze), Migrate or clone website, backup files and databases other than WordPress, advanced automatic backups, database encryption, restore backups. I couldn't find a way of viewing the backed up files from another machine without installing the Carbonite software. Since the Mozy and Backblaze offers this feature, it would have been nice for Carbonite to provide it too. I was very interested in Backblaze after seeing the video and blog post about the storage pods they have. Basically, Backblaze will automatically stop itself, and will not upload any more files until a human intervention is exerted, despite the fact that more files are still in need of being uploaded (in my case I have another 300 GB of stuff that needs to be backed up). I have set up a Backblaze B2 account and tested the credentials with an s3 command line program. I also tested UpdraftPlus with an AWS bucket and that works well. When I set up a connection to Backblaze B2 using the S3 generic option and run the S3 Settings test I get the following error.

Backblaze B2 is part of the Cantemo Achive Framework. This means the Cantemo Portal can enable sophisticated rules to automatically archive or restore an asset or collection to/from Backblaze.

  • I've experienced the same error and I believe its because UpdraftPlus S3 signatures are version 2 (V2) as indicated in the error message. Whereas, Backblaze states that only version 4 (V4) signatures are currently supported.

So, what about UpdrafPlus upgrading its version of authentication to version 4?
